Staples Office Superstore To Participate In Visa's "Rewards For Your Home"

March 26, 1996; Framingham, Ma -- Staples, Inc. announced that the company will participate in a Visa-sponsored program offering Visa cardholders savings on home-related products and services. In the program called "Visa Rewards for Your Home," cardholders will automatically earn "For Your Home" Rewards credits when they make purchases at Staples with their Visa Cards. Joining Visa are Staples and 24 other retail and direct marketing merchant partners. "Rewards for Your Home" will be backed by Visa's multi-million radio and print advertising campaign this spring.

Staples customers will earn credits equaling 20% of their Visa purchases made between April 1 and June 30, 1996. From July 22 through September 20, customers can request Savings Certificates from Visa based on their accumulated points. From August 15 through November 30, these Savings Certificates can be redeemed in conjunction with promotional offers from Staples and other Rewards program partners. Staples' promotional offer will give Cardholders up to $5 off any purchase of $40 or more, up to $10 off any purchase of $70 or more, and up to $15 off any purchase of $100 or more. "This program offers Staples customers a chance to save even more on their purchases," commented Jack Bingleman, Staples President of North American Superstores. "Although Visa cardholders throughout the U.S. will automatically earn 10% of their card purchases in credits, at Staples and seven other Select Merchant partners, cardholders will earn Rewards credits equal to 20% of their purchases. We think that's a real value for our customers."

"Rewards for Your Home" savings certificates are good toward discounts and savings at all 25 participating partners and their multiple locations, up to maximum savings limits for each individual offer. Balances remaining from any offer must be paid with a Visa card. Consumers can call toll-free, 800-640-VISA (800-640-8472), during the promotion to inquire about the number of Rewards Credits earned, terms and conditions, partners and other elements of the program.
