Profit Squeeze
Since the beginning of this decade the amount consumers owe on bank credit cards has grown a staggering 163%, while profits have grown less than half as much. Last year profits on VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express dropped by $100 million compared to 1997. (Oct 99)
