Cardholders of the United Airlines Mileage Platinum VISA card are receiving an upgrade notice this week. No, it's not for a seat upgrade, it's for a card upgrade! Starting Monday, December 3rd, cardholders will have access to the services of VISA's top consumer product, the VISA Signature Card. The new benefits include a free 24-hour concierge service, no pre-set spending limits, up to $1 million in Travel Accident insurance, up to $3,000 in Lost Luggage insurance, up to $300 in Trip Delay Insurance, as well as additional rewards. First USA, the issuer, will upgrade cardholders with no change to annual fee or annual interest rate. First USA and United Airlines also announced a new promotion to give away one million United Mileage Plus miles every week this holiday season. Starting today, through Jan 31st, each time cardholders use their United VISA card they will automatically be entered to win one million miles. The United Mileage Plus Million Mile Giveaway will make a total of nine cardholders “mile-ionaires. The approximate value of one million United air miles is $29,000.
