SuperBowl Survivor (1/23/01)
FULL STORY:
CardWeb.com, Amtrak, Denny's restaurants, Longview RV Superstores, and
Massachusetts radio station KIX Country 979 have teamed up for a SuperBowl
promotion with a "Survivor" twist. Eight hardy souls from the Springfield,
Mass. area are spending a week in an RV heading to Tampa in an effort to earn
tickets to SuperBowl XXXV. The RV left radio station KIX Country 97.9 FM on
Sunday, Jan. 21 and is expected to arrive in Tampa on Sunday, Jan 28 in time
for the SuperBowl. Modeled after the hit TV show, “Survivor,” the participants
will face immunity challenges and vote someone out of the RV every day. Amtrak
is providing return trip tickets to ousted players. Participants will dine
twice daily throughout the tour, courtesy of Denny's restaurants. Driven by the
KIX Country morning radio team, the RV will stop in cities in the MidWest and
South on its way to Tampa. Hotel and incidental expenses are covered by a
prepaid debit card from CardWeb.com. The lucky survivor will win two tickets to
the SuperBowl, a rental car, airfare to bring a friend to the game and return
plane tickets for both. The radio personalities will be broadcasting the
challenges and voting during those stops. A web simulcast from
http://www.kix979.com will keep listeners in touch.
