Watch out! J. D. Power has gas! Carclub.com unveiled its Membership and Gas MasterCard this week, which offers a 10% gas discount to cardmembers. The card announcement follows last week's merger between carclub.com and jdpower.com, formerly a J.D. Power and Associates company, to create J.D. Power Clubs. The new prepaid, stored value card can be refilled by telephone or online.The carclub.com membership requires a monthly fee of $5.99. Benefits include the 10% gas discount, deductible reimbursement of up to $500 in the event of an accident, access to the "Mechanic Hotline" for a second opinion or advice on repair estimates, and 24/7 access to a driving direction service.  Carclub.com expects to introduce a multi-tiered membership structure next month with a free membership level providing information and support for many vehicle ownership needs. J.D. Power says the car club is the first of many consumer membership clubs to come. The card is available by visiting www.carclub.com or by calling 1-800-CARCLUB.
