The pioneer of "Name Your Own Price" is teaming up with an Internet credit card pioneer to launch a customized VISA or MasterCard. NextCard announced this week a major strategic relationship with priceline.com to enable priceline.com customers to create their own customized credit cards beginning this spring. NextCard has agreed to create a unique co-branded Priceline.com NextCard that will enable priceline.com customers to name the terms they want for those elements of a credit card that are most important to them, and NextCard, using its unique online approval and customization technology, will respond to the customers' requests with an individualized offer for a NextCard VISA or Mastercard in real time. NextCard will also participate in priceline.com's "sponsor dollars" marketing program, which will enable customers to increase the amount of their priceline.com purchase offers by specified amounts by applying for a Priceline.com NextCard or using the card to complete their online transaction. For example, a customer who applies for or uses a Priceline.com NextCard to bid for an item could have up to $40 instantly added to their purchase offer, thereby increasing their chances of getting the item at no additional cost.
