Bank of America Enhances Ninth Season of Museums on Us(TM)with Expanded
Access for Customers and Their Guests
In celebration of "National Museums Month," Bank of America today
launched the ninth year of Museums on Us(TM)with a number of enhancements
that provide Americans with even greater access to premier cultural
institutions throughout the Northeast during the month of May. Museums
on Us(TM)is a nationally recognized program that promotes the arts and
other cultural activities by providing Bank of America and MBNA
customers and their guests free admission to participating institutions.
By simply showing a Bank of America ATM, check or credit card or MBNA
credit card, customers nationwide and a guest can visit any of the 56
participating cultural institutions in May for free (list of
participating museums is included below).
"Through Museums on Us(TM), millions of cardholders living in or traveling
to the Northeast will have a chance to enjoy the region's premier
cultural facilities," said Anne M. Finucane, global marketing and
corporate affairs executive and Northeast president, Bank of America.
"Cultural institutions are not only sources of great learning and
inspiration, they are also important to the economic vitality of the
communities they serve. By supporting these anchor institutions, we are
able to provide additional investments in our communities while creating
benefits for our customers."
This year, Bank of America is introducing several key enhancements to
the program, providing greater access to participating museums than
customers have experienced in the past:
* Inclusion of MBNA cardholders - Having completed its merger with
MBNA Corporation, Bank of America is expanding Museums on Us(TM)to include
all MBNA cardholders.
* Bring a guest for free - For the first time, Bank of America and
MBNA cardholders can bring one guest to a participating museum for free
by showing a single card.
* Addition of Delaware institutions - Three museums in Delaware -
the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington, the Delaware Museum of Natural
History in Wilmington and the Winterthur Museum and Country Estate in
Winterthur - are participating in this year's program. (The program
continues to include cultural institutions in Connecticut, Maine,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and
Rhode Island.)
Participating institutions benefit from added exposure through print,
radio, online, in-branch, direct mail and out-of-home advertising that
promotes Museums on Us(TM)throughout the nine states in which Bank of
America operates the month-long event. This marketing support increases
visitor levels, revenue through gift shop purchases and membership.
Bank of America provides sponsorship and philanthropic support to
cultural institutions throughout the United States. Recipients range
from the country's most renowned institutions in the Northeast - such as
the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston - to cultural treasures located in
communities where Bank of America operates throughout the country,
including the California Museum in Sacramento, the Dallas Museum of Art,
the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and many others.
